About
The Fabus Family
Taylor Fabus
Mitch grew up farming in the dairy and cash crop industries. From the day he was born, his passion has always been agriculture and caring for animals. In 2006 he received his Bachelor's of Science in Crop & Soil Science from Michigan State University.
After more than a decade of working in agricultural research, in 2018, he fulfilled a life long dream by becoming a full-time self-employed farmer. He currently farms soybeans, corn, oats, wheat, but the majority of his acres (and time!) is devoted towards growing high-quality grass and alfalfa hay for Michigan livestock.
In 2019 the newest member of the family, J.W., arrived and is already busy taking over dad's work!
The Kiddos
Taylor grew up showing American Quarter Horses across the Midwest and nationally. Excelling in the all-around division, Taylor is well-versed in both english and western riding disciplines. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Animal Science from Michigan State University (MSU). In the end of 2021, Taylor took a leap of faith and left her equine educator position with MSU after 11 years to be self-employed! Although she is honored to still be serving as an adjunct faculty member in the Animal Science Department at MSU. In addition, Taylor has held her MI 4-H Horse Show Judge's Card since 2018.
When not busy at the farm, along with daughters Caroline & Claire, she can be found at horse shows across Michigan and the Midwest.
Mitch Fabus
Caroline, Claire, and JW round out the busy Fabus family. The girls can often be found on the back of a horse or helping with lessons and camps. JW loves all things farming and if he can ride with dad while he's driving a piece of equipment, he's the happiest little fella in the world! We feel very fortunate to have our children raised on the farm. Not only does it teach responsibility and the value of hard work, but we've also been able to introduce them to some of the most wonderful people who've become as close as family!
